POSITION DESCRIPTION | Registered Nurse Clinical Quality Lead Sickle Cell Disease 1 FTE One of a network of provincial community health centres, NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and disease prevention programs and services. We are seeking a 1 FTE Registered Nurse (RN-EC), who will be the clinical lead within the RN-EC scope of practice at the Thunder Bay site. This opportunity is aimed at supporting targeted initiatives to reduce health inequities within the Health Quality Ontario Sickle Cell Disease. The aim of this role is to enable people with sickle cell disease (and their families and caregivers) to experience care from health care providers within a health care system that is free from racism and anti-Black racism, discrimination, and stigma. This position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan and a excellent group health benefit package. QUALIFICATIONS: •RN with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration. •Minimum 3-5 years nursing experience. •Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical capacity building with multiple partners across NorthWestern Ontario. •Aware of the health disparities and inequities that exits for with individuals impacted by sickle cell. •Experience leading quality initiatives considered an asset. •Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. •Strong ability to think critically and problem solve creatively. •Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively, within interdisciplinary team environment. •Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural issues. •Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (Black, under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, non-insured) •Perform clinical activities according to the College of Nurses standards for nursing practice.
