Community Health Centre associations call on federal and provincial governments to invest in CHCs as key strategy for building back better
The federation of associations and networks representing Community Health Centres across Canada has written to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Premiers of Canada’s provinces and territories urging them to include investment in Community Health Centres in any forthcoming federal/provincial health system funding agreements.
As the Prime Minister and Premiers meet in Ottawa this week to discuss measures that can strengthen healthcare across Canada, the Canadian Association of Community Health Centres has joined with the Alliance for Healthier Communities (Ontario), British Columbia Association of Community Health Centres, Manitoba Association of Community Health, Nova Scotia Association of Community Health Centres, Alberta Network of Community Health Centres, and Saskatchewan Network of Community Health Centres to stress the importance of increasing access to the community-governed, integrated primary care and social services that CHCs provide.
